How to Get a Septic Permit in North Alabama – Step by Step

Step 1: Earth Solution, LLC Soil Evaluation

Holes dug and depth determined by perc rate and restrictive layers. Soil classified using Munsell Color and texture.

Step 2: Earth Solution, LLC Permit Creation

Complete Form CEP-2 and CEP-2/3 Part C. Attach plot plan, construction drawings (if engineered), deed, and vicinity map.

Clients must obtain a 911 street addresses. Permits are assigned to properties addresses, not people. They are transferable between owners.

Step 3: Client Application Submission to Local Health Department

Owner submits in person. Pay the application fee.

Step 4: Local Health Department Approval & Inspection

LHD inspects holes/pits. Permits are valid for 5 years once issued.

Note: All installers and pumpers must be licensed by the Alabama Onsite Wastewater Board (AOWB). All engineered onsite septic systems required a licensed Professional Engineer.
